2023 World Cup 1 Athletes Announced

Orienteering Canada is excited to announce that 5 athletes will be competing at the World Cup Round 1 in Østfold, Norway, April 26-29th:

Women: Emily Kemp

The World Cup program starts off with a long distance on April 27th, continues with a middle distance on April 28th, and ends with a forest relay on April 30th. Vegard, Christian, and Emily will represent Canada in the long distance while all 5 athletes will compete in the middle. Vegard, Christian, and Jan Erik will make up Canada's team in the relay.

All of our athletes are excited to compete with the largest and strongest team we have fielded at a World Cup in many years.

Vegard, who grew up and lives in Norway has this to say: "I’m really looking forward to competing in a region I spent two years during my last junior year and first year as a senior - learning the ropes from Olav Lundanes & co!"

More information about the event can be found on at o-weekend.no and the entire event will be viewable online in real time at the IOF Live Center.
