Q&A
Q: How did you first get involved in orienteering?
A: Through DONTGETLOST's youth program, Adventure Running Kids
Q: If you had one tip for young orienteers what would it be?
A: I think for Canadian juniors physical training is often ignored, so I would say it is important to not just do technical trainings but also proper physical training, whether it's in terrain, running, cycling, skiing, or other alternatives.
Q: What would a typical week of training look like for you?
A: Currently, a general week in the winter will have running intervals on Tuesday, Night-o on Thursday, a long-run in terrain on the weekend, plus 3 easy runs and a rest day filling out the week.
Q: How do you normally prepare for an important race?
A: Find old maps and think about the challenges you will face technically and physically. Then I try to find ways I can emulate the technical and physical challenges I will face in this kind of terrain.
