Q: If you had one tip for young/beginning orienteers what would it be?
A: If I had one tip for young or beginning orienteers, it would be to slow down just enough to stay in control. It might feel tempting to run fast right away, but good navigation always comes first. Take the time to really read your map, understand the terrain, and make confident decisions before speeding up.
Q: What is one thing you really want to work on in 2026?
A: This year, I really want to focus on strengthening my navigation skills in the forest. I’m working on becoming more confident reading the terrain, maintaining my map contact under pressure, and making faster, more accurate route choices. My goal is to stay calm and decisive even in complex sections of the course, and to build the consistency I need to race at a higher level.
