Q&A
Q: What would you say is the most overlooked element of orienteering training and why?
A: Time in the terrain. Don't always have to be actively reading the map, but the strength you get from lots of terrain running is invaluable
Q: If you had one tip for young orienteers what would it be?
A: Take time to correct your mistakes before they become huge time losses. If something does not feel right, stop and correct it.
Q: What is one thing you really want to work on in 2025?
A: Keeping my navigation really stable while trying to run fast
Q: Describe your overall approach to training for orienteering?
A: Generally I am a strong navigator, so I focus mostly on the running side of things. Currently I focus on enjoyment and love trail running in the mountains with friends, so this is what I do most of. I will then sharpen my orienteering skills getting closer to a competition.
Q: What aspect of orienteering keep you interested and motivated to stay involved, train, and compete?
A: I love when things flow when it is technical. And good results help too! I also really enjoy going to races and seeing friends
