Q&A
Q: If you had one tip for young orienteers what would it be?
A: Do not be afraid to try, and do not be afraid to fail. Take risks and learn from mistakes.
Q: What is one thing you really want to work on in 2025?
A: Mindfulness and maintaining sharp focus throughout the entire race, especially given that my background is in rogaining, where races can last 24 hours and there is time. In orienteering, the time is now.
Q: What aspect of orienteering keep you interested and motivated to stay involved, train, and compete?
A: There is something incredibly empowering about being able to navigate your way through the world. Even more so when you don't need roads or trails for that and you're moving in the wilderness. Also, when you enter a state of flow, it's so exciting - everything else just disappears.
