Volunteer Opportunities

Orienteering Canada is seeking passionate, skilled individuals to join our Board of Directors. As the national sport organization for orienteering, we work with clubs and associations to support and grow the sport across the country.

Board members provide strategic direction, ensure good governance, and act as ambassadors for the sport. Directors work collaboratively with fellow board members, staff, committees, and volunteers to advance Orienteering Canada’s mission and strategic plan objectives.

We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds who bring one or more of the following:

Experience in governance, strategic planning, or non-profit leadership

• Skills in finance, fundraising, marketing, communications, or sport development
• Strong networks and relationship-building abilities
• An interest in the sport of orienteering and a commitment to Orienteering Canada’s values

We believe our sport is stronger when everyone’s voice is heard. If you share a passion for our sport and want to help it grow, we encourage you to apply – whether you’re a longtime participant, a newcomer, or someone cheering from the sidelines. We welcome Board applicants from diverse backgrounds, life experiences, and communities across Canada, including women, Indigenous peoples, members of visible minority groups, people with disabilities, and members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

• 8-10 Board meetings annually (virtually)
• Committee participation as required
• 2-year term (renewable)
