About the World Games
The World Games are an international multi-sport event held every four years, featuring top athletes from around the globe in sports not contested at the Olympic Games. The 2025 edition will take place in Chengdu, China, from August 7 to 17, bringing together approximately 5,000 athletes from 118 countries to compete in 253 medal events across 34 sports. This year’s Games will introduce new disciplines, including powerboating, cheerleading, and several para-sports, as part of a broader strategy to grow and modernize the event. With its focus on innovation, inclusion, and global participation, the 2025 World Games promise to be a vibrant celebration of athletic excellence beyond the Olympic spotlight.

3rd place (!!!!!!!!!): Vegard Jarvis Westergård
26th: Damian Konotopetz
Quote from Vegard re his middle distance race:
“The race was super fun! Tried to start in a controlled way, and I think that really payed off. Running around in Chinese fields was something new, but I enjoyed it. My three week vacation here in Chine beforehand looks like a super smart decision now with how good I managed the heat. So happy to get the bronze medal!”
